Knockburn Loch / 2D Sports Limited / 2D Developments – Membership Terms and Conditions 2024 -2025

 

Terms:

Member(s) – Individuals and/or Families with a valid membership

Site - Within the perimeter of the Knockburn site Boundaries

Management - 2D Sports Limited Staff, Contract Staff

 

Disclaimer:

In the event of an accident, loss, theft or damage to personal effects of the Hirer and their clients, Knockburn Loch / 2D Sports Limited / 2D developments accept no liability for any direct / indirect loss. 

Members uses the site and undertake their own activities at their own risk.

 

Site Access

Members do not have exclusive use of the loch / site, there may be other users using the site and loch.
There may be times when the access for members is not available or restricted due to training or events - we will endeavor to give as much warning as possible. Please refer to our Facebook page, Instergram, and notices on site. 
We have a secure entry system on the main gate and changing block door.  As such, only persons in possession of a key fob may access the site and building during our opening hours.

 

Gate Operation

When arriving at the site, once you have held your fob up to the round sensor, please allow the gate to open before driving through. Sensors on the gate will force it to stop if you try to pass through whilst it is opening.

Swiping the gate is your registration when arriving onsite, even if the gate is open for any reason when you arrive please ensure you swipe your fob first first prior to driving in.

On your way out, pull up, leaving enough space for the gate to open , and only when it is open drive out.
 

To use the fob at the gate and changing rooms hold it next to the sensor with the green, orange and red lights.The orange and red light will go out, you will hear a beep and you will be granted access. If for any reason your fob is deactivated all 3 lights will stay on.
Please contact the office to resolve any issues.

Once in possession of your fob, please look after it and keep it in a safe place, as you will need it each time you visit the Loch.
Replacements for lost fobs or addtional fobs will be charged at £10.

The fobs will only be active during our specified members access times.
Please make yourself aware of these changes and general access times from our Website.

Conditions of Use / Members Site Rules -

Knockburn Loch / 2D Sports Limited / 2D Developments accepts no liability for personal loss and/or damage to any individual and/or their property whilst using the site for any activity.
 

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. 
The site is not manned at all times; therefore there is no 'safety cover' for any activities you undertake.  In the case of an emergency it is your responsibility to have your own access to first aid provision.  If the emergency services are needed (and you do not get mobile reception) there is an emergency phone located on the North end of the Conference Centre (in the area between the changing rooms and conference centre).  You will find, on the inside, the post code to the site and local contact numbers (site manager, local doctors etc)
 

EVENING SITE ACCESS. 
The site is not manned in the evenings, therefore, if you have no fob you will not gain entry.  The resident security manager is off duty in the evenings and may not be around to help, and is under no obligation to allow entry. 
Please make sure you double check you have packed everything before heading out to Knockburn Loch.
 

Fobs may not be loaned or passed on to third parties / non-members for use.  The entry system records all activity on each fob enabling us to monitor access in combination with CCTV onsite.

Please refrain from blocking open the changing room doors as this contravenes our secure access policy.

When you leave the changing rooms you will have to take your fob with you to get back in to the changing rooms.  There is a board at the loch side for you to hang up your key fob for collection after you swim.
 

The speed limit onsite is 10mph, this is to ensure the safety of all site users, please observe this and drive with due care and attention at all times.
 

NO DOGS ALLOWED apart from guide dogs.

There is to be no litter left onsite, please take it home with you.

If you are to access the loch with canoes/boats you are welcome to drive down to the loch edge. 
Please take care when doing so and ensure your car is not blocking any access.  At times access may not be possible in certain areas due to other activities taking place. If in doubt seek guidance from Knockburn team.

All under 18s must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

No amplified music is allowed onsite due to the nature of the site and planning conditions.

BBQ's are allowed onsite but they must be gas powered and not place on the grass.

Be aware that sports activities can be dangerous and that any body of water can act in sudden and unpredictable ways which may result in serious injury to those taking part in the activity.

If required listen and abide by all safety briefs and recommendations given by the staff / team / instructors of Knockburn Loch.

Membership does not include the free use of Knockburn equipment – Wetsuits, Buoyancy Aids, Paddles, SUPs and Kayaks can be hired.

 

GUEST POLICY:

Knockburn Loch / 2D Sports Limited / 2D Developments operate a Guest Policy.
Members cannot bring in friends under their membership.
If you have  guest who you wish to bring ontite to use the site, loch and facilities for their own activities, you can do this by tking out a guest pass.
Guest passes can be purchased anyime online 365 days a year or via the site office on arrival during the normal summer season May - September.
Bringing a guest onsite without first informing Knockburn Loch by booking a pass online or visiting the site office may invalidate your membership as this contravenes our secure access policy.
